Since the Shape Recognition tool looks for objects that are closed (such as a circle or a square), be sure the image you are using for your Digital Takeoff Sheet is high quality. If your image is of poor quality, closed objects may appear to be open (such as one line of a box being too faded for the tool to pick up). In such cases, the Shape Recognition tool may incorrectly skip the object.
Please also note that the Shape Recognition tool is meant to look for objects that can be only annotated as a Count , it can not be used to look for other types of objects, such as pipe.
Use Shape Recognition if you:
Are using a high-quality image for your Digital Takeoff Sheet.
Have many similar objects in your Sheet that can be annotated as Counts.
Wish to automate the identification and drawing of Count annotations.
