Editing Design Specifications, Groups, and Components

A Design Specification consists of an ID and Name and is comprised of components that describe exactly what the Specification will do in Takeoff. Upon accessing Design Specifications, the file displays in a window with a menu Bar and tool bar, and the Specifications file showing the sequence number, type, ID, and description of the Specifications. Figure 1 is an example showing sequence number 2 selected.

A sample Design Specifications display is shown in Figure 1. In the example, the for both the Design Specification as well as the Design Component have been selected so that the Sub-Components are displayed.

To add or edit in the Design Specifications window, select the line you want to edit and right-click to see the options.
