Item searching can be performed by any of the methods shown on the tabs: Manufacturers, Commodity Codes, etc.
Each of the search pages (tabs) consists of search input fields and search buttons, as well as the grid to display the search results.
See the following sections for explanations of their search input fields.
Search by Category/Subcategory
Once you have determined how you want the search performed using the search input fields, use the following search options:
Finds
all items that meet the criteria in the search input fields. Items searched
this way cannot be sorted. This is a faster search method than Search
& Sort.
Performs
the same search function as Fast Search, but the difference is that items
found this way can be sorted. This search method takes longer
to complete than Fast Search. When you select Search
& Sort, the program warns you that This
operation may take several minutes. You have the opportunity to
select No to stop the search.
Note: If you do not want the “This operation may take several minutes prompt” to display when performing a Search & Sort, you can de-select the “Warning before long searches” option in File > Options > Settings.
Clears
the grid to blank.
is only active when an item is selected. It copies the selected (highlighted)
items to the Buy List. See Buy List.
