Search by Manufacturer

Select the Manufacturer tab. There are four input fields that can be used to control the search process: Manufacturer, Item Name (two fields), and Catalog Number.

The Fast Search and Search & Sort functions (see Searching for Items) are performed based on what is shown in the input fields. The explanations of the input fields and the examples given will help you determine how you want to conduct searches.

Select Manufacturer: Use  to display a list of manufacturers and make a choice from it. The  button is used to clear this field.

Item Name: The item name fields can be used together or singly. For example, enter "copper" in the first Item Name field and the search will find all items with "copper" in their description. The second Item Name field can be used to narrow the search further. Building on the previous example, if "joint" is entered in the second Item Name field, the search would find only items with "copper" and "joint" in their descriptions.

Refer to "Search Using Wildcards" for how to perform searches using the allowed wildcards.

Note: If a search is not performing as you expected, check the status of the Automatic Wildcards option (see Settings).

Catalog Number: Enter a catalog number to find a particular item or a portion of a catalog number (using wildcards) to search for all items containing that portion of a catalog number. SeeSearching Using Wildcards.

All input fields containing entries: When every search input field contains an entry, the program will search for items that meet all of the criteria.
