Formulas are used during calculations, for example, to produce quantity values or pricing values.
You can create and store up to 98 different formulas for calculating material quantities in takeoff. A formula may be as simple as "quantity x multiplier," or as complex as you like.
The dimensions used in the formulas (such as quantity and multiplier) are taken from a list of 26 dimensions which is also stored in the formula file. You may name the 26 dimensions whatever you like, except that the first is always "QUANTITY." They must include all dimensions you use in your formulas. The dimensions are assigned to the overlay keys A through Z. These keys are used to enter the appropriate values for dimensions in Takeoff, and to enter dimensions when you create a formula.
