Note: All of the menu selections and tool bar buttons are standard throughout File Maintenance.
There are a number of ways to add or edit a Component. First, highlight it. Then:
Select Edit > Edit
Right-click, Edit
Enter
The component's information is displayed in the Edit Component window.
The Edit Component window shows the selected sequence number and the component description. The sequence number cannot be changed. The description can be modified.
A Phase number can also be
selected, if appropriate. Use to
display the Phases for selection.
The Reference section of the Edit Component window allows you to control how the Component is calculated. See the Reference section in Bid Component Fields for an explanation.
Material
Subtotal, Labor Subtotal, Shop Subtotal: This allows you to select
the material, labor, or shop subtotal from the Subtotals file. Once you
select a Subtotal type, use to
display the subtotals.
Weight, Area,
User Def 1, User Def 2: This allows you to select the Weight,
Area, and User Def 1/2 subtotal from the Subtotals file. Once you select
a Subtotal type, use to display
the subtotals.
Amount or Label: Use this Reference for a component that serves as a label or to enter a flat amount.
Calculation:
This allows you to enter a Reference Amount in the Bid Summary and then
use an Operation and a Rate to calculate the Amount. Use to select the Operation.
Component: Enter the appropriate information in each field. Use the Tab key to move from field to field. To complete the Component, click OK when finished. If you select Cancel any changes you made are not retained.
