TheLookupfunction in Takeoff accesses theHVAC Databook, allowing you to find items and take them off.
There are three ways to use Lookup in Takeoff:
Select Edit > Lookup
Select
During single item takeoff (in the Item Number window), press the Size/Lookup key on the PowerPad
The Lookup Items window displays. The window is divided into two sections, with the Local Databook fields displayed in the top section. The bottom section is where items that you select are placed, waiting to be taken off, until you have found all of the items that you want in this Lookup session.
Enter as much information as you know in the fields to start your search. The more fields that you enter, the more specific your results will be.
In the Category field, enter a Category Description.
In the Description field, enter an Item Description.
In the Size field, enter the Size of the item.
In the Pricing Code field, enter a partial (or complete) pricing code. Estimating will check all pricing codes for the item against it (all of the UPC/Vendor/Buyer codes, and the Labor code).
NOTE: The criteria for all fields entered will be used for the search. If you enter a description and a category, the search will only provide items that match both of your entered criteria. So, entering multiple criteria will drastically narrow your results.
Ignore Case: To make your search case-sensitive, uncheck the Ignore Case checkbox.
Exact Matches Only: Select Exact Matches Only if you do not want your search results to include all the variations of a base item.
Click Search Now to start the search. The results display in the upper grid.
Double-click on an item to select it and move it to the lower grid (or you can right-click the item and select Add to List). Here, you are creating a list of the items you have found and want to take off. You can keep adding to this list until you have found all of the items you want to take off in this lookup session.
Enter the quantity of the selected item on the Enter Quantity window, if applicable. Click OK to save the quantity entered and continue.
When you are finished adding items for takeoff, click Takeoff.
