You are here: Takeoff

Takeoff

During takeoff, you will use the keys designated on the Takeoff Menu and the keys specified in the material file to enter items for each Section in the Estimate.

You can take off individual items, or you can set-up and take off "assemblies:" groups of items that are taken off together. You can set-up and store up to 150 assemblies, and each assembly can contain up to 50 items and 20 size tables. You can use assemblies for complex hanger combinations, assign a spacing value, and have a hanger assembly taken off automatically every so many feet of duct. You can also create assemblies right in takeoff (see Creating Assemblies in Takeoff).

Your Takeoff display can be configured to suit your preferences with as much or as little information as you require (see Takeoff Screen Views).

Audit Trail view shows all takeoff entries as they are made, including both rectangular and non-rectangular items. Maintenance view is similar; however, it shows only rectangular items in the RECT takeoff window and non-rectangular items in the NON-RECT takeoff window. You can review the takeoff file simply by scrolling through either Audit Trail or Maintenance view. Your takeoff file can be modified as you perform takeoff--all editing functions are available in Maintenance view: edit, copy, paste, etc.
