You are here: Takeoff > Standard Takeoff Menu Keys > Formulas

Formulas

You may use one of your pre-defined formulas to calculate quantity, instead of entering the quantity. Usually formulas are pre-set in an assembly key through Data Files (Assemblies), but you may want to enter a formula during Takeoff if you are taking off an individual item (using the ITEMS key).

A formula uses the dimensions that are set to calculate the correct quantity. If any of the dimensions needed by the formula are set to 0, the program prompts you to enter values for them.

Double-click the FORMULAS key ("greater than" > ) and the Select Formula window displays.

Notes:

  • If you have set a formula for Takeoff in Takeoff Options, it remains as the default in Takeoff until you change it using the FORMULAS key.

  • Formulas can also be accessed by double-clicking (with the primary mouse button) on the Formulas field in the Options view.
