File Attachments

Attachments can be accessed by selecting Edit > Insert File Attachment or . A click with the secondary mouse button in the Maintenance view displays an Edit menu from which Insert Attachment can also be selected.

Attachments allow you to enter any kind of file relating the current takeoff, whether it is about an item, an assembly, or about the Section in general. The Cut, Copy, and Paste editing functions (or drag and drop) can be used to move notes throughout the Takeoff file. When Cut/Paste are used, the note can be placed anywhere in the Takeoff file, not only appended as an auxiliary item to the selected takeoff item.

 

Note:

  • Files can also be dragged directly from Windows Explorer and dropped into the Takeoff file. Any file can be inserted this way (Bitmap images, Excel spreadsheet files, etc.), allowing inclusion of the installation instructions, specifications, fitting drawings, etc. directly in the Takeoff file. These files will appear in the Estimate Files listing (Estimates > Open Related Files) in the Section notes directory (e.g., NOTE01, NOTE02, etc.).
