Applying Design Specifications to Existing Takeoff

 

Design Specifications let you quickly change the type of material used for an item or an assembly. Design Specifications are set up in the data set or in the Estimate.

The Estimating Series TFM allows point-and-click application of a Design Specification. The Edit > Design Spec selection or  accesses the Design Specifications file where you can then select the specs to be applied. Follow these steps to apply one or more Design Specs.
 

  1. Select the items.

  2. Select  or Edit > Design Spec. The Design Specs window displays. These are the Design Specifications set up for the selected Estimate.

  3. Select the Design Specifications you want to apply.  The scroll bar to the right of the display can be used to review the file.

  4. Once you make Design Specification selections, notice that Specs Selected indicates the number of specs you have selected. Also, the Apply button is active. When you have selected the specs you want applied, click on Apply. The TFM display returns, and the specification has been applied

Note:  If you realize a mistake in the application of a Design Specification, the Undo function (Edit > Undo or ) can be used immediately following the procedure.
