During takeoff, you will use the keys designated on the Takeoff Menu and
the keys specified in the Assemblies file to enter items for each section
in the Estimate.
You can take off individual items, or you can set up and take off "assemblies" which are groups of items that are taken off together.
Takeoff entries are stored by the program until you clear them. You may clear the takeoff of an entire section through the Clear Entries function in the Open Section screen. This feature lets you clear a section's takeoff and re-enter it. Otherwise, you can resume takeoff of the same section at a later time.
If there are identical items or sections in the Estimate, you need not take them off more than once. A multiplier can be specified at any time in the takeoff. When a multiplier is entered, it applies to all items until another multiplier is entered. If you start a takeoff and do not enter a multiplier, the multiplier set in Options is assumed.
If you take off an item incorrectly,
you can subtract it from the takeoff before going on. Use the DEDUCT ON/OFF
key (on the Takeoff Menus) to subtract the item from the takeoff. The
Edit > Cut
selection or can also be used to
remove an item or assembly from the Takeoff file.
