View (Takeoff)
Most of the Takeoff View pull-down menu selections are the same as those discussed previously in this manual (Tool bar, Status Bar, etc). For more information on saving/loading views.
AUXILIARY TAKEOFF:
The Auxiliary
Takeoff function allows you to view everything that will
be processed during Summary. When the
button
is selected, the items that are taken off will display the joints, insulation,
hangers, and byproducts (if an item has a byproduct, you will be able
to see the byproduct, and if any of those items have byproducts, you will
see those as well). To view all of these items, select
,
which appears to the left of each item.
ORIGINAL TAKEOFF
The Original Takeoff command
or Toolbar button displays the exact items that were taken off with the
Design Specification menu before any substitutes were applied. This shows
the estimator exactly what key was pressed along with the size that was
active. When Original Takeoff is checked, the items appear as they were
originally taken off. For more information about Design Specifications
in Takeoff File Maintenance see Applying
Design Specifications to Existing Takeoff.
SCREEN VIEW TABS: Toggles the screen view tabs. For more information, see Screen View Tabs.
KEYPAD: Selecting View > Keypad turns on an on-screen keypad (and number pad) that can be used anywhere within takeoff.
From the Trimble Estimation Main Menu, if you select File > Options > Input Devices, you can extend the keypad by selecting the Extended radio button. Once the Extended button is selected, go back into takeoff, and the keypad will feature the extended buttons.
VIEW NOTES: When checked, any notes entered in the current Takeoff Section are displayed in Maintenance view (indicated with an icon and the appropriate description, such as Text Note, Voice Note, etc.). When unchecked, notes are not shown.
FILTER TAKEOFF
The View
> Filter Takeoff function or tool bar button allows you to see
just items taken off within certain levels. See Filtering
Takeoff.
