Takeoff Options Tabs: Specifications
Specifications allows you to select the specifications for installation, insulation, and levels.
INSTALLATION: This allows you to set the type
of installation to determine by-products that are automatically taken
off with the pipe items (hangers, riser clamps, excavation, etc.). Select
to open the Pipe Installation Options dialog.
Select None, Hanger, Riser or Underground to designate your pipe installation type
Select None, Assembly, or Item
- None- this selection does not apply any Assemblies or items to the installation type
- Assembly-when selected, the assembly to install the item is automatically taken off according to the assembly indicated here (you must define the menu, key and connection type, if any, and taking off a pipe item).
- Item-when selected for hanger and taking off a pipe item, the preset item will pull the item that is assigned a key flag of hanger in the specified category (Databook). This also allows you to assign a connection type and/or use a predefined formula to calculate the desired quantities.
Use the drop down to select the Menu.
Use the drop down to select the Key.
Use the drop down to select the Connection item to be used.
Select OK to save you settings.
INSULATION: This allows you to select the default
insulation that will be used to wrap the outside the pipe during Takeoff.
Select to open the Edit Pipe Insulation
dialog.
- Select to turn this feature On or Off.
- Select the Category.
- Select the Key.
- Select OK to save your settings.
LEVELS: These are the default levels for when an item is being taken off.
The to
the right of the field is used to display a drop-down menu of the Level
Specification. Scroll through each level category using
and
to find the value
you want to use in Takeoff. Highlight it to select it. This field is then
updated with your selection.
When you are finished making changes, select OK. If you do not want the changes that were made to be saved, select CANCEL.
