Takeoff Options Tabs: Design Specs
Design Specifications are used to change the type of material used for an item or in an assembly. The "design specification" Takeoff method allows you to create generic Takeoff Keys (or most commonly used fittings, pipe, valves, etc.) to do Takeoff. At any time, these design specifications can be altered or re-applied to existing Takeoff. This gives you the ability to change specifications on the fly.
This selection allows you to create and edit Design Specifications. Up to 100 standard specifications can be established, each with 50 groups. You must use the DESIGN SPECIFICATION category in Takeoff. When a design specification is active in Takeoff, the three criteria (category, Key, and size) of the spec must be met before the conversion is made.
To add or edit in Design Specifications, select the line you want to edit. You can use the plus sign to expand the design specs to view, edit, and add Groups and Components.
Depending on if you are editing a line in the Design Specifications, Group, or Components, see one of the selections below.
