Continuous Line
The Continuous Line tool functions like Segmented Line, except that Digital Takeoff automatically starts new line that continues from the end point of the previous line, until you select a finishing option to end using the tool.
- When Continuous Line is active, you can draw a segmented line. Once you finish drawing the line, switch to Takeoff and takeoff the line.
- Digital Takeoff automatically starts a new line that continues from the end point of the previous line. You can repeat this as many times as desired.
- If you do not wish for a new line to continue off of this line, then use one of the right-click Finish options (Finish and End, Finish w/ Drop, or Finish w/ Rise) to end the line.
- If you are ending with a Drop or a Rise, but have not specified a Drop Length in the tool bar, you are prompted to enter the length of the drop.
- You can also use Drop & Continue from the right-click menu at any time, which adds a drop and two elbows and continues drawing the line.
Deleting the Standard Takeoff item will also delete
its corresponding Digital Takeoff annotation, provided that Digital
Takeoff is connected.
If
the line ends with a drop, the terminating fitting is added as a part
of the drop, this gets rolled up into the drop symbol, that fitting
is added to each drop taken off, and any deductions are taken from
the drop.
