Snapshots allow a user to store a particular arrangement of takeoff items and paste them, in the same order, multiple times.
To set-up snapshots, first turn on the Snapshot Bar by going to View > Snapshot Bar. Next, highlight the items you wish to be part of the snapshot. Then, click and hold the left mouse button and drag the item to an empty snapshot bar slot.
The “Enter Snapshot Description” window will open. Enter in a description and select OK, the snapshot will then be listed in the Snapshot Bar. To insert a snapshot into Takeoff, either double click or drag the snapshot description onto the audit trail.
Replace with Snapshot
This function can be accessed by going to Edit > Replace with Snapshot or by right-clicking on the audit trail and selecting the function from the context menu.
Replace with snapshot will remove selected items and replace them with a selected snapshot. There are two options available:
Like Assemblies: This option will cause all assemblies like the selected one to be replaced with a snapshot.
Selected Items: Will replace the selected items only with a snapshot.
After selecting one of the options, a window will appear.
Use to see a list of all available snapshots. Select
one and press OK. A
confirmation window will appear, displaying how many items will be pasted
and how many items will be replaced. Press OK
to insert the snapshot.
Snapshot Options
The Snapshot Options can only be accessed through the Takeoff Options Bar. There are two modes for snapshots: "Use Current Options" and "Use Saved Options.”
Use Current Options: Every snapshot that is pasted into takeoff will reflect the current Quantity, Multiplier, Deduct, Factors, and Levels.
Use Saved Options: The snapshot will be pasted unchanged from how it was saved.
These options will only affect Paste operations. The Replace with Snapshot function will always use the Quantity, Multiplier, Deduct, Factors, and Levels of the items being replaced.
