Digital Takeoff is designed to accommodate both simple and complex Jobs. One of the ways this is accomplished is through the use of Layers.
On a more complex project, takeoffs may be required for several different phases, for example, one for site work, another for electrical, another for framing, etc. Often, these phases are all contained on the same Sheet, which means that your takeoff could turn out to be virtually unreadable as it becomes cluttered with annotations.
The Layers feature of Digital Takeoff allows you to avoid that situation by creating a separate Layer for each phase. Each new Layer is completely empty until you begin digitizing on it. You also have the option of viewing any combination of Layers at any given time. For example, examine them one at a time, or view them all at once for an overview of the Job’s progress.
