The Continuous Line tool functions like Segmented Line, except that Digital Takeoff automatically starts new line that continues from the end point of the previous line, until you select a finishing option to end using the tool.
When Continuous Line is active, you can draw a segmented line. Once you finish drawing the line, switch to Takeoff and takeoff the line.
Digital Takeoff automatically starts a new line that continues from the end point of the previous line. You can repeat this as many times as desired.
If you do not wish for a new line to continue off of this line, then use one of the right-click Finish options (Finish and End, Finish w/ Drop, or Finish w/ Rise) to end the line.
If you are ending with a Drop or a Rise, but have not specified a Drop Length in the tool bar, you are prompted to enter the length of the drop.
You can also use Drop & Continue from the right-click menu at any time, which adds a drop and two elbows and continues drawing the line.
Notes:
Deleting the Standard Takeoff item will also delete its corresponding Digital Takeoff annotation, provided that Digital Takeoff is connected.
If the line ends with a drop, the terminating fitting is added as a part of the drop, this gets rolled up into the drop symbol, that fitting is added to each drop taken off, and any deductions are taken from the drop.
