Bid Templates (Estimate)

The Estimate Files Bid Templates are copied from the data sets when you create the Estimate. They can then be modified to reflect the requirements of that Estimate. Estimate Bid Templates are accessed by selecting Estimates > Estimate File Maintenance > Bid Template. The “Open Bid Template” window will display.

Notes:

You can manipulate the Bid Templates by highlighting the template description then clicking once with the secondary mouse button (right button for right-handed users; left button for left-handed users). This displays an editing menu: Copy, Paste, Delete, and Rename.
Copy/Paste in Bid Summary does not function the same as in the rest of Windows. The information is not stored permanently on the clipboard once it is copied. Instead, the information is immediately removed once the information is copied.

Select the Job and Estimate from with the drop-down arrows, and select the Primary or Alternate template with which you want to work.

Note: The Estimate Bid selection accesses a bid from Bid Summary. If you select Estimate Bid, the bids for this estimate display and you can select the bid you want to access. After selecting a bid, the program goes to the Bid Components display, where you can also access the bid subtotals and modify the bid. See the Bid Summary chapter.
