Data

The Data portion of the program lets you work on the various user-definable data files that are used by the program. The HVAC program allows up to 99 sets of data files, called "Data Sets." Data files include: Assemblies, Bid Templates, Design Specifications, Formulas, Levels, Phases, Sections, Sizes, Specials, and Subtotals.

Assemblies:  Ten physical takeoff menus are provided with your program: five for "detailed" takeoff and five for "quick" takeoff. Each menu contains 30 programmable keys that you can predefine to do takeoff the way you want.

Bid Templates: You can define up to 200 line items, called Bid Components, to be included in your Bid Summary. Bid Components typically include material, labor amount subtotals, tax, direct expenses, overhead, profit, and bond. Any bid component may be calculated from another bid component. Bid Components also may specify where subtotals and totals are to be calculated.

Design Specifications:  This is a file of up to 100 specification descriptions (which in turn, may contain up to 50 specs) that you can use in Takeoff to quickly change the type of material used for an item or in an assembly.

Formulas: You can create and store up to 99 formulas to be used for automatic calculation of quantities at takeoff.

Levels: You can define up to 6 types of levels, each with 499 records used in Takeoff. The program lets you take off items within a "level" (such as a feeder schedule, section, floor, etc.).

Phases: You can set-up 99 phase codes and descriptions, then assign the appropriate phase to each subtotal and/or bid component. When you print the Bid Summary, you may choose to print a separate report showing totals by phase.

Sections: You can set-up 50 standard section descriptions to be used in Takeoff.

Sizes: The program allows up to 1,200 sizes to be used in describing items.

Specials: You can define up to 500 standard special items to be used in Takeoff. Special items are items that are not in the Item File, since they are typically only used occasionally.

Subtotals: You can set-up 499 different subtotals. Each item in the item file has two subtotal codes that specify under which of these subtotals the item's material and labor amount should accumulate.

Takeoff Options and Summary Options let you choose standard settings for Takeoff and Summary. The Data menu also includes Load, Save, Copy, Delete, Profile (lets you keep track of revision dates), Price Update, and Databook selections.

The Databook contains all of the information for the material items in the data set (categories, headers, item number, size, description, material price, labor units, item type code, unit of measure description, a separate subtotal designation for material and labor amounts, and a pricing code for automatic price updating).
