Add Item adds an item to the Category or Key that you are in. To add an item, right-click the Item list (found on the right portion of the window) and select Add Item.
The “Add Item” window will appear.
Note: to later edit an Item, highlight the Item you wish to edit and select one of the following:
Edit > Edit
Right-click the Item you want to edit and select Edit Item.
CATEGORY: An item is classified under a specific category.
KEY: The items are sorted into Keys, which are ways of grouping items together with similar characteristics.
ITEM: This number is a unique index for items in a particular Key.
UPDATED: Update shows the last date that any part of this item was modified.
DIAMETER: There are eight diameter boxes below the Category and Key item fields. These fields are the sizes of the item. Diameter is the name of the size field being edited. The most complex items in HVAC can have four, six, or even eight sizes specified. The number of diameter fields available will change depending on the key flag used.
Note: The Diameter field can also be accessed within the item list. If you select the Size column of an item, and then select to the right of the number, you can edit the diameter.
BYPRODUCT 1: When certain items are taken off, additional items can automatically be taken off with them. These additional items are called byproducts. A byproduct is simply another item linked to the takeoff of an existing item.
BYPRODUCT 2: Same as Byproduct 1.
FACTOR 1: This is the multiplier used for the Byproduct 1.
FACTOR 2: This is the multiplier used for the Byproduct 2.
PREVIOUS/NEXT: These buttons allow you to easily navigate through existing Edit Item windows. When navigating, the buttons will also automatically save any changes made to the Item before moving to the next/previous Item. These buttons are not active when creating a new Item.
