Trimble Identity

Estimation Desktop uses Trimble Identity for identification when you start the Estimation Desktop software. You can use your Trimble Identity with several other Trimble products to provide a single way to access your Trimble products.

If you do not already have a Trimble Identity account, click Create an account on the sign-in screen and complete the form. You will be asked to confirm your email. Go to your inbox and open the confirmation email. In the email, click Activate. You can then sign into Estimation Desktop using your Trimble Identity.

Logging in

After you enter your Trimble Identity details, and log in is successful, the Estimation Desktop software starts. You can then close the Trimble Identity screen.

If you have a license for multiple companies, you are prompted to select a company. The company name is shown in the About Estimation Desktop screen. Select Main > Help > About Estimating.

Logging out

When you log out, the Estimation Desktop software closes and also logs out of Trimble Identity. The license is released.

Exiting

When you exit, the Estimation Desktop software closes, but will still retain your Trimble Identity login.

Automatic closure of the software

The software automatically shut downs at midnight. The software uses the local time of your computer to determine midnight. You are warned 20 minutes before shutdown. Modules are also automatically shut down, for example, the opened bid summary.

Multiple logins with same Trimble Identity

If you log into a second occurrence of the software on a different system, then after ten minutes, a pop up message appears in the first occurrence of the software. You need to click OK. You are then automatically logged out of this first occurrence. This only occurs if the first login is in the main Estimation Desktop screen. It does not happen when any of the modules are opened.
