Select the if you are using a standard or wireless PowerPad, then select the COM port. Only COM ports that are installed on your system are shown. If you are using the PowerPad, you must choose the COM port to which the PowerPad is connected. If a COM port is "grayed out" it is not available on your computer.
Key Layout:
Classic: Having this selected will set the PowerPad to use the classic key layout.
Extended: Having this selected will set the PowerPad to use the extended key layout.
Upper Case First: PowerPad will assume upper case as the default.
TEST: The Test option allows you to test the PowerPad to ensure it is sending the correct signals to the computer. When you select Test the Press Any Key window displays.
The choice for Estimation or Materials Management ensures when you press a PowerPad key cell, the correct result will be shown (some PowerPad keys function differently in Estimation and Materials Management, e.g., Qty vs. Search).
Note: Choosing Estimation or Materials Management here does not affect functionality in Estimating applications or Materials Management. The choice here is merely to accurately test the PowerPad device.
Simply press any PowerPad key cells, one at a time. The program will register the input and display each character it receives.
